Back home
Two weeks ago today, I drove to Gatwick to catch my plane to A Coruna and start my Camino. What an amazing couple of weeks this has been, and I really do feel I'm a changed person.
I now look forward to the second part of my fundraising challenge for Oakhaven, the Oakhaven Walk from Mudeford to Lymington with my walking buddy, Jane. I foresee a risk that I don't keep on walking before then, so I need to maintain my discipline and keep those miles up. The weather should start to improve from here on, so that will naturally encourage me out. I was spoilt by the fantastic weather in Spain, temperatures in the mid 20s every day which was perfect. And there was not a hint of rain during the whole of my stay.
I've brought back a love of Tarta de Santiago, the classic almond cake of the region, and have already baked one. I'm sure there will be many more during the summer. My Compostela is framed and proudly displayed at the foot of my staircase, and other souvenirs of an amazing trip are around the house. I'm already planning another Camino, and you'll read all about it here when I crystallize my plans.
Here's a link to all the Relive videos in a single collection, so you can easily watch all my 6 daily walks in one place.
Buen Camino
